My practice includes extensive content knowledge in a variety of subjects and effective delivery honed over years of educating
others. If I don't know the answer for a client, I will find it…off the clock. You would expect that of an excellent tutor.
But I am not just another excellent tutor.
Regardless of the assignment – whether standardized test prep, subject matter tutoring, college or graduate school
admissions consulting, or career guidance – I add value for the client in several ways. First, I possess an uncanny ability to
identify quickly (often within the first five to ten minutes of meeting a client) and address the often-unrecognized issues
blocking that client’s success and advancement.
Additionally, with my parallel careers managing Insight Tutors and leading organizations in the corporate world, I help
the client understand how decisions made today regarding education will either create or foreclose professional and personal
options in the future. I add an additional dimension of interest to one’s education by linking the hows and whys and relevance
of today’s actions to the client’s short-, mid-, and long-term goals. I help the client connect the dots.
Perhaps my biggest contribution to a client engagement is my infectious love of knowledge and learning, and of
communicating that love to the client. Stanford allowed me to indulge and expand that love as I earned MS and BS degrees in
biology during my tenure. My work earning an MBA in finance and entrepreneurship at USC taught me how to apply the theoretical
in innovative and profitable ways, just as I will teach you.
I’m a freak about science, technology, and innovation, of creating something from nothing, and of solving a good puzzle.
I am insatiably curious, and I seek to infuse my clients with the same energy. I can pick up an article on law, philosophy, or
coding and find it as fascinating as one about business or biology, or the business of biology. I can honestly say I love my
work. That alone might make me “not just another tutor.”
